Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has declared Tuesday, September 23, 2025, a public holiday in celebration of the state’s 38th anniversary.
The announcement was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, on Monday.
According to the directive, all government offices, schools, and public institutions across the state are to observe the work-free day.
Governor Eno, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), congratulated the people of Akwa Ibom, urging them to mark the anniversary with joy, peace, and unity.
He further encouraged citizens to reflect on the progress recorded since the creation of the state in 1987 and to remain committed to its continued growth and development.
