The family of late Nollywood actor Francis Duru has announced that he will be buried in Imo State on December 11, 2026.

The family disclosed this in a funeral announcement shared on the actor’s official social media page on Monday, outlining activities to celebrate his life and legacy.

According to the announcement, a service of songs will be held in Abuja on Wednesday, November 25, at the Family Worship Centre, Idris Gidado Street, Wuye, at 5 p.m.

Another service of songs is scheduled for Thursday, December 10, at the late actor’s family compound in Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano, Imo State.

The funeral service and interment will take place on Friday, December 11, in Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano.

The family described Duru as "a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle and friend," adding that his memory would remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

"Though our beloved Chief Francis Duru has taken his final bow, his memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him," the statement read.

The family also expressed appreciation to those who had supported them since his death, noting that their kindness, prayers, telephone calls and messages had been a source of strength.

"Sleep well, Chief Francis Duru. You may have gone ahead of us, but you will forever remain in our hearts," the announcement added.

The funeral notice was signed on behalf of the family by his son, Ebuka Duru, and sister, Anthonia Chenyi, née Duru.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the veteran actor died at the age of 57 following a brief illness.

His family announced his death on his official Instagram page on October 23.
