President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reversed the recently announced management changes at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), recalling the Director-General, Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, and the Executive Director of News, Ayo Adewuyi, to complete their tenures.

The reversal was announced on Tuesday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Dembos, who was appointed in October 2023, will continue in office until the end of his three-year term in 2026. Similarly, Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, will remain as Executive Director of News until 2027.

The directive nullifies earlier appointments made to replace the NTA management, including those of director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.

Onanuga said, “Dembos was appointed DG of the TV network by President Tinubu in October 2023. He will now return to complete his three-year tenure.

The President similarly directed the recall of Mr Ayo Adewuyi, the Executive Director of News, to complete his three-year tenure, which ends in 2027.”
