The Kogi State Government has spoken on the abduction of a traditional ruler in Omala Local Government Area, which occurred last week Monday.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed security agencies to ensure the swift rescue of the monarch and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the government said security operatives have also been tasked with intensifying surveillance of flashpoints across the state to reduce incidents of kidnapping and other crimes.
“The Government of Kogi State will continue to prioritise the safety of lives and property of residents and make the state uninhabitable to criminals,” Fanwo said.
He urged residents to support security efforts by volunteering credible intelligence to aid the rescue operation, assuring that the government would keep the public updated in line with its public communication integrity.
