Inhabitants of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State have been charged to be resolute in their support for the Dapo Abiodun-led administration, as they were re-assured of more dividends of governance .
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, gave this charge during the commissioning of 24 executed projects under the Chairmanship of Hon. Afeez Balogun in Abeokuta South Local Government Area.
Hamzat, described the policies of the present government as people-oriented, noting that the impact being made at the grassroots could not go unnoticed.
"I can assure you that the government in power is for all. Developmental projects are springing up across all the Local Government Areas in the State in fulfillment of the promises to the people. This trend is equally an attestation to the support enjoyed from the State.
Earlier in his speech, Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon.Afeez Balogun noted that Abeokuta-South Local Government was a pace-setter, adding that the commissioned projects and other initiatives were designed for impactful governance.
"It gladdens my heart as we commission 24 laudable projects spread across Abeokuta South Local Government Area. We adopted an all-inclusive approach by engaging representatives of all 15 wards, who made known their interests, and we worked in that direction," he said.
The executed projects were; a constructed steel pedestrian bridge in Saja, ward 4; a public toilet in Ago Egun; and nine borehole facilities in Itoko, Nawarudeen road, Onikoko, Itesi, Ijeja, Oke-Aregba, Kuto, Ijemo and Itoku
Additionally, solar powered street lights were installed in 5 wards; another 500 units of mini 100kw solar streetlights across streets, as well as seven rehabilitated toilet and borehole projects.
Other dignitaries present at the event were; Vice Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Oluranti Ogunjemilisi, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kodaolu Mustapha, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi among other functionaries.
