Fuji legend, King Saheed Osupa, has expressed deep gratitude to Grammy-winning Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, for describing him as his “GOAT singer.”

The acronym “GOAT,” meaning “Greatest of All Time,” is widely used in entertainment and sports to celebrate exceptional talent.

Burna Boy, during a recent GOAT Talk session with retired tennis icon Roger Federer, named Osupa as his greatest singer of all time, a revelation that has since gone viral.

Sharing a clip from the interview on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Osupa described the acknowledgement as a monumental moment for both his career and Fuji music.

“Burna Boy’s heartfelt tribute, naming me as his GOAT singer on a global stage, is a monumental moment that celebrates the soul of Fuji music and its timeless influence. This honour not only uplifts my journey, but also shines a brilliant light on our rich cultural heritage, bridging generations and genres worldwide,” he wrote.

Fondly called Oba Orin (King of Music), Osupa praised Burna Boy for recognising his contribution to Nigerian music and culture, while also acknowledging his admiration for the Afropop superstar.

“I am profoundly grateful for this powerful acknowledgement from a true Afropop titan, the African Giant himself, of whom I am also a great fan. Together, we are redefining African music legacy and inspiring the world with authentic, vibrant sounds,” he added.

The Fuji maestro also thanked fans who continue to embrace Fuji music and pledged to support Burna Boy by attending one of his upcoming concerts.
