The group stage draws for the 2025 edition of the Ogun State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Security Cup were conducted on Friday, setting the stage for another exciting football showdown among security agencies in the state.

In Group A, 2023 champions Nigeria Police Force (Police Machines) will battle it out with the Amotekun Corps, the Fire Service, and maiden edition winners, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Defending champions, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), headline Group B, where they will face the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speaking after the draws, Ogun SWAN chairman, Comrade Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, commended the security agencies for their continued participation, stressing that the tournament goes beyond football.

 “This competition fosters unity, friendship, and healthy rivalry among our security operatives. Beyond the goals and tackles, it is about teamwork, fitness, and building stronger bonds across agencies,” he said.

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Mr. Bayo Adegboyega, assured that the 2025 edition will be “the best ever,” urging football stakeholders to support the tournament to ensure its success.

The 2025 Ogun SWAN Security Cup will officially kick off on October 10, 2025, at the M.K.O. Abiola Sports Arena, Kuto, Abeokuta.
