A former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed Nigerians, describing the ADC as the only credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aregbesola made the statement on Saturday during the official unveiling of the ADC Secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State, where he accused the APC of mismanaging the country’s affairs through incompetence, greed, and poor leadership.
According to him, the APC-led government has plunged Nigeria into hunger, insecurity, and infrastructural decay.
“Under the current administration, hunger has taken over the land. Governance has been reduced to personal enrichment and political intimidation. Nigerians are suffering because of the failure of leadership at all levels under the APC,” Aregbesola said.
He further alleged that the ruling party had become intolerant of opposition voices, using state machinery to suppress dissent.
“If the APC is confident of its strength, it would not be hounding and haunting opposition members everywhere,” he added.
The former Interior Minister described the ADC as a “party of conscience and service,” expressing optimism that the growing public discontent with the APC would translate into electoral success for the ADC in 2027.
“The hatred of Nigerians for the ruling party is obvious, and the party that will harvest that unpopularity is the ADC,” he declared.
