The grand finale of the 5th Ogun SWAN Security Cup is set to receive a major boost as top government and security officials have confirmed their attendance at the much-anticipated event.

The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya; the State Commissioner of Police, Dr. Lanre Ogunlowo; and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, who is also the chief host, are all expected to grace the final match.

The championship showdown, featuring Nigeria Police Machine and NSCDC, will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Organized by the Ogun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), the tournament has grown into a key fixture in the state’s sporting calendar, promoting unity, discipline, and camaraderie among security agencies.

This year’s final promises to be a thrilling contest as both teams have demonstrated impressive form en route to the title decider. The Police Machine team cruised past the FRSC with a commanding 5–0 victory in the semi-finals, while NSCDC edged EFCC 1–0 in a tightly contested match to book their spot in the final.

According to the organizers, the presence of high-ranking government and security officials underscores the importance of sports as a tool for peacebuilding and inter-agency cooperation in Ogun State.
