The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 7 Command, covering the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State, AIG Victor Olaiya, has declared that the ongoing enforcement of regulations on tinted vehicle permits remains non-negotiable within the zone.
AIG Olaiya made the declaration during his familiarisation visit to the Niger State Police Command on Monday, where he emphasized the need for strict compliance with existing laws governing the use of tinted vehicles by motorists.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of Zone 7, ASP Halima Mohamed, the AIG cautioned officers against using the enforcement exercise as an avenue for extortion or intimidation of citizens.
He further charged police personnel to always prioritize personal safety while performing their duties, noting that officers must be alive and healthy to effectively protect lives and property.
AIG Olaiya also conveyed the assurances of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, that the Force Headquarters remains committed to improving the welfare and working conditions of police officers across the country.
