The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Tuesday, swore in three newly elected members of the Green Chamber as the House resumed plenary after its 10-week annual recess.

The new lawmakers are Hon. Omosede Igbinedion (Edo State), Hon. Felix Bagudu (Kaduna State), and Hon. Mukhtar Rabiu (Jigawa State).

The Clerk of the House administered the oath of office to the new members, who were ushered into the chamber under the supervision of the Speaker.

All three lawmakers were elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during recent by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Hon. Omosede Igbinedion emerged victorious in the Ovia Federal Constituency of Edo State, polling 77,053 votes to defeat other contenders. The seat became vacant in September 2024 after Hon. Dennis Idahosa, who previously represented the constituency, was sworn in as Deputy Governor of Edo State.

In Kaduna State, Hon. Felix Bagudu replaced the late Hon. Ekene Adams of the Labour Party, who represented Chikun–Kajuru Federal Constituency before his demise. Bagudu secured victory with 34,580 votes.

Similarly, in Jigawa State, Hon. Mukhtar Rabiu won the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency by-election, polling 38,449 votes to emerge as the new representative.

With their swearing-in, the House now has its full complement of members as legislative activities resume following the annual recess.
