Governors of the South-West states are set to converge in Ibadan for an urgent, unscheduled meeting to deliberate on critical regional issues, particularly the rising security concerns across the zone.
The closed-door summit, scheduled to hold at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, is being hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
All six governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti States are expected to be in attendance.
Although official details remain limited, sources say the emergency meeting was convened to address escalating security threats, accelerate infrastructural development, and strengthen regional integration under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission.
The governors are also expected to review ongoing collaborative security efforts, including the operations of the Amotekun Corps, with a focus on enhancing its capacity in the face of emerging challenges.
