A single mother, Sholola Islamiat Omolara, has cried out for public assistance to save her only child, Obadina Folawe Azeem, who has been diagnosed with primary malignant bone tumor, a severe and rare form of bone cancer that has damaged his entire left thigh.

Ms. Islamiat, who is in her late 30s, said she has spent all her resources and explored several local medical options without success. She explained that the ordeal began in May 2025, when Folawe was first admitted to Matrix Orthopedic Hospital, Abeokuta, after being diagnosed with bone cancer.

Since then, the SS2 student of Prime Grace Comprehensive College, Camp, Abeokuta, has remained in the hospital and has been unable to continue his education.

Further investigations at Crestview Radiology Clinic, Victoria Island, Lagos, revealed additional complications, including soft tissue involvement affecting the vastus intermedius and medialis muscles, with the cancer extending from the mid-thigh to the knee joint.

Doctors have recommended urgent surgery for Osteosarcoma, but the procedure and related treatments require ₦10 million, an amount the mother says she cannot afford due to her unstable income.

Ms. Islamiat is appealing to Nigerians, humanitarian organizations, and particularly the Senators representing Ogun West and Ogun Central, Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) and Sen. Shuaib Salisu, to help save her son, whom she describes as her “only surviving child”.
