Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday paid a private visit to former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), at his hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State.
The meeting, which began shortly after Atiku’s arrival in the early afternoon, was held behind closed doors and away from public view.
Sources familiar with the visit described it as a high-level consultation on key national issues ahead of future political engagements.
Discussions were said to have centred on electoral reforms, particularly the ongoing debate over electronic transmission of election results. Other issues reportedly reviewed include recent tax policies and broader governance concerns affecting the country.
About 40 minutes after the talks commenced, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, arrived at the residence and joined the closed-door session.
Details of the meeting were not immediately disclosed. More updates are expected.
