The Federal Government has directed civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The directive was contained in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to the circular, all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phases I, II and III, will be closed from Friday, March 27, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The government said the measure was necessitated by the use of Eagle Square, Abuja, for the APC national convention scheduled for the same period.
It further directed that all Ministries, Extra-Ministerial Departments, Agencies, and Offices located within the affected areas, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, should ensure their staff work remotely on the specified date.
Heads of ministries, departments, and agencies were also instructed to disseminate the directive and ensure full compliance.
The APC national convention, billed to hold at Eagle Square on Friday, is expected to attract party leaders, delegates, and supporters from across the country, as deliberations focus on internal party matters and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
