The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has discharged and acquitted former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah, bringing an end to a long-running criminal case instituted in 2020.

Delivering the ruling on Thursday, March 26, 2026, Justice Muazu granted the discharge following an application by the Director of Public Prosecution, Rotimi Oyedepo, who amended the original charge.

Under the revised charge, two companies, Sobora International Limited and Global Offshore and Marine Limited, were named as defendants. Representatives of both firms entered guilty pleas during proceedings.

Upon the guilty pleas, the prosecution urged the court to convict the companies and order their winding-up. Defence counsel raised no objection, and the court subsequently convicted the firms and directed that they be wound up.

Counsel to Oduah, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), filed an application seeking her discharge, which the court granted. A similar application by Wale Balogun (SAN), representing the second defendant, Gloria Odita, was also approved, leading to her discharge.

The case, initially filed in December 2020, revolved around offences under Section 319A of the Penal Code Act, Laws of the FCT, 2006.
