Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned from the party, signalling a significant political shift as he moves to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Kwankwaso announced his resignation in a statement shared on Monday via his Facebook page, noting that the decision was deliberate and carefully considered.

“I wish to inform the general public that I have officially resigned my membership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) with immediate effect,” he stated.

He added that he is currently in the process of joining the ADC, expressing optimism about the next phase of his political journey.

According to him, his decision to align with the ADC is driven by his belief that the party is well-positioned to deliver meaningful change in Nigeria, particularly in Kano State.

Kwankwaso noted that the ADC’s vision and values offer a credible platform for promoting good governance, economic development, and improved welfare for citizens.

He further emphasised his commitment to working with like-minded stakeholders to achieve shared development goals, stressing that his decision reflects his dedication to the progress of the country.
