In its ongoing commitment to fostering equitable development at the grassroots level, the Ogun State Government, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, has officially installed Oba Tajudeen Adeoye Olukunle as the Onisale of Isale-Gbokoto in Yewa-North Local Government.
Oba Olukunle, now a grade II Oba and member of the Yewa Traditional Council, was urged to govern the Isale-Gbokoto community with a focus on peace and inclusive leadership.
The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, emphasized that the installation and presentation of the instrument of appointment to the monarch underscores the importance of maintaining peace and the significant role of traditional institutions.
"My message to Oba Olukunle is to expedite the peace-building mission within his domain. The State government acknowledges the critical role of traditional institutions as a cornerstone of governance in peace-building and community development," he stated.
Dr. Akinbode Olusola, Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, congratulated the Oba, highlighting that his installation represented a mandate to usher in a period of developmental progress in Isale-Gbokoto.
The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa land, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by the Eselu of Iselu land, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, also extended his congratulations to the new monarch, urging him to collaborate closely with other royal leaders in the Yewa Traditional Council and the government for guidance.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Tajudeen Olukunle expressed his gratitude to the government, Oba Olugbenle, and the people of Isale-Gbokoto, promising an inclusive reign.
The event was also attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, royal fathers, clerics, members of the Yewa-North legislative council, sons and daughters of Isale-Gbokoto land.
