The Chairman of Ogun State Teaching Service Commission ( TESCOM), Apostle 'Biodun Sanyaolu has reiterated his agency's commitment to promote scout activities among learners in public secondary schools.
Sanyaolu gave the assurance in Abeokuta, during a courtesy visit by the executive members of The Scout Association of Nigeria,, Ogun State Coumcil, led by its State Scout Commissioner, Pastor Olatunji Akinsanya.
The Commission Chairman, who is also a Scout council member affirmed that the association has made significant impacts on society,
noting that learners should be well engaged in voluntary organizations that would shape their lives for better.
According to him, "We are working to instill discipline in our learners, and this aligns with the Scout Association's goals. It promotes character development, citizenship, and personal growth among young people through outdoor activities, community service, and leadership training''.
Apostle Sanyaolu announced plans to set up a committee to integrate scouting into extra-curricular activities and facilitate construction of a befitting secretariat for the State Scout Council
Earlier in his presentation, Pastor Akinsanya commended TESCOM Chairman for his transformative drive at the public secondary education level, emphasizing the need to inculcate moral values among learners in the school system.
In his contribution, the Assistant Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Nigeria, Dr. Tola Adenekan, who highlighted the association's core values, including duty, loyalty, and respect, appreciated the contributions of Apostle Sanyaolu in uplifting the the State Scout Council.
