The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that the sale of nomination forms for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections will commence on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Durosinmi Meseko, disclosed this while briefing journalists after the 186th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting.

Meseko, who was accompanied by Tolu Bankole, said the directive is contained in the party’s revised timetable and schedule of activities, which supersedes all previously released versions and has been formally communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, the sale of forms will run from April 25 to May 2, while the submission of completed forms is scheduled to close on May 4, 2026.

He stated that screening for legislative and governorship aspirants will take place between May 6 and May 8, while presidential aspirants will be screened on May 9.

Meseko further outlined that the House of Representatives primaries will hold on May 15, followed by Senate primaries on May 18, and State House of Assembly primaries on May 20. Governorship primaries are slated for May 21, while the presidential primary will take place on May 23.

Addressing concerns over alleged restrictions on nomination forms, Meseko clarified that the process remains open to all interested aspirants.

“Nomination forms for all aspirants seeking offices under the APC are open. Forms are available for all members contesting elections. There is no limitation or restriction,” he stated.

On the mode of primaries, the APC adopted a hybrid system combining direct and consensus options. However, Meseko emphasized that consensus must be unanimously agreed upon by all aspirants, noting that any disagreement would automatically trigger a shift to direct primaries.

The NWC also approved the commencement of ward, local government, and state congresses in Zamfara State, beginning April 28.

In addition, Meseko confirmed that the party’s updated membership register, including newly registered members, has been successfully submitted to INEC.

He concluded that the APC is fully prepared for the forthcoming primary elections.
