Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that the 2027 presidential election will mark his final attempt to become Nigeria’s president.
Atiku made this known during an interview on Prime Time on Arise Television on Wednesday, stating unequivocally, “The 2027 election will be my last outing.”
The former vice president, who has been in the presidential race since 1992, defended his continued ambition despite concerns about his age and repeated attempts. He maintained that Nigeria’s core problem remains poor leadership, stressing that his experience and vision position him to address the country’s challenges effectively.
Atiku also highlighted the importance of grooming younger leaders, advocating for structured leadership development to prepare the next generation for governance
