Abiodun Charges New Olu of Mowe on Development, Investment Drive | The Alternative News

 


Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has charged the newly installed Olu of Mowe, Oba Yaya Oriyomi, to take the lead in driving the State’s investment agenda, with a view to fostering sustainable growth and accelerating development in the community and its environs.

The Governor gave the charge during the installation and presentation of the staff of office to the Monarch in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of the State.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering industrial growth capable of attracting high-value investments for the overall benefit of the people.

Represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Governor stressed the need for the new Monarch to mobilise his people to actively partner with the Government by taking ownership of development projects in their community.

He also urged the Monarch to be inclusive in governance, calling on him to carry all stakeholders along without discrimination, while remaining accessible, receptive and responsive to the yearnings of his subjects.

“I enjoin the people of Mowe to accord the new Kabiyesi the respect, support and cooperation required to move the town forward, as collective effort is needed to accelerate development across all sectors of the community’s traditional, social and economic life,” the Governor said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Obafemi/Owode Local Government, Hon. Lanre Ogunsola, commended the Governor for his foresight and leadership in approving the installation of the new monarch.

He advised the traditional ruler to lead with wisdom and magnanimity, expressing optimism that his reign would usher in peace, growth and development in Mowe, the local government area and Ogun State at large.

In his acceptance speech, the Monarch expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun and the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to prioritise the development of Mowe, assuring that his reign would bring about meaningful progress to the community and contribute to the advancement of Ogun State.
