Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has lauded the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State for its effective governance at the grassroots level, particularly in the installation of esteemed monarchs across the State.

Speaking at the installation and presentation of the Instruments of Office to the new Odemo of Isara, Oba Bashorun Oluwole Ogunbayo, in Isara, Remo North Local Government Area, Obasanjo highlighted the event as a significant milestone in the ancient town's history.

 He emphasised the importance of traditional rulers in promoting growth and development at the grassroots level, acknowledging the trust reposed in them.

"I commend the Governor of Ogun State for his achievements," Obasanjo stated.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, remarked that the installation reflected the crucial administrative role played by monarchs at the grassroots, assuring that the nomination and selection process adhered to the due process outlined by the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State, 2021 and the 1958 registered Chieftaincy Declaration for the Stool of Odemo of Isara.

The Governor advised the new Oba to discourage land-related criminal activities and exercise wisdom during his reign. "Kabiyesi, as the new Odemo of Isara, you are a First Class Oba, a high-ranking member of the Remo Traditional Council and a permanent member of the Ogun State Council of Obas. I urge you to view this appointment as a call to serve," he emphasised.

Chairman, Remo North Local Government, Hon. Muyiwa Soade, earlier in his speech, felicitated the people of Isara kingdom and enjoined them to rally round the new Oba, promising that the Local Government would provide needed support at all times.

"As a government, we pledge our unwavering support, working hand in hand to advance initiatives under the leadership of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration" , he added.

Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, in his goodwill message, implored Oba Oluwole Ogunbayo to run an inclusive reign by reaching out to rival party and adopt a holistic approach for a developmental reign In Isara kingdom.

The event had in attendance other dignitaries which included; Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye, Permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu,  among other royal fathers, all chiefs and members of Remo Traditional Council and  sons and daughters of Isara kingdom.
