Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as his preferred successor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Abiodun made the declaration during a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, where he described Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the consensus candidate to fly the party’s flag.

“The decision reflects the collective will of party leaders in the state,” the governor said, adding that Adeola is “truly deserving” to lead Ogun State after the completion of his tenure.

The governor also expressed confidence in a smooth transition process, noting his pride in contributing to the emergence of successive governors within the APC in Ogun State.

Adeola currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
