Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Katsina North Senatorial seat.
Sirika made the declaration on Friday at the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he was received by a large crowd of supporters.
Presenting himself as an experienced and capable candidate, Sirika said he is prepared to represent the district at the National Assembly, drawing on his previous legislative experience.
The former minister had earlier served as senator representing Katsina North between 2011 and 2015.
He pledged that if elected, he would prioritise the development of the district and improve the welfare of its people.
Sirika also affirmed his commitment to adhering to the party’s rules and processes ahead of the forthcoming primaries.
Expressing optimism about the party’s chances in future elections, he stated that the APC would secure victory at both state and national levels.
As part of his campaign strategy, Sirika announced the launch of a political movement, “Dikko Kalas,” which he said would focus on grassroots mobilisation through house-to-house engagement across the state.
In his remarks, the APC State Chairman, Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described Sirika as a strong pillar of the party, commending his contributions to its growth and unity.
