The Gbegande of Ososa-Ijebu, Oba Abdul- Mojeed Alatishe has stated that the institution of Oba is a critical part of governance and an opportunity to impact lives, especially at the grassroots.
Alatishe who stated this at a strategic retreat, organised for Management Staff and Deputy Directors of the Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, at Ikenne- Remo, Ogun State, asserted that beyond the paraphernalia of office, monarchs are installed to serve the people.
Earlier in his address, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat who welcomed participants, enjoined them to take advantage of the training for improved productivity at the work place.
"This retreat has been put together to achieve leadership excellence amongst the management staff. With this initiative, we aim to bring forth innovation and efficiency to the workplace," he said.
Participants at the training session were taken through subject matters such as Local Governance, Health talk, Governance and Accountability among others.
Resource persons at the retreat also included; Permanent Secretary and Solicitor General, Barrister Olaotan from the Ministry of Justice, Dr. Bukunola Akinlesi of Hospital Management Board, and the Former Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Abayomi Sobande.
