President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to reject actions capable of undermining national stability, stating that efforts by his administration to address insecurity are beginning to yield results.

In his Easter message, personally signed, the President emphasised that no meaningful progress can be sustained without peace and unity.

He said ongoing security interventions—supported by increased funding and foreign partnerships—are gradually producing positive outcomes in the fight against terrorism and banditry.

Tinubu also urged Christians in Nigeria and across the world to reflect on the significance of Easter, particularly the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which symbolise sacrifice, resilience, and redemption.

“This season reminds us of the significance of Easter and the message it embodies—sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness. For us in Nigeria, this essence resonates with our current realities as we navigate a period marked by economic strain and security challenges,” he said.

The President acknowledged that despite the efforts of his administration and the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, security challenges persist across parts of the country.

“However, my administration continues to make resources available and forge foreign partnerships to enable us to deal decisive blows to the agents of terror and banditry,” he added.

He recalled his recent visit to Jos, where he commiserated with victims of violence in Plateau State and assured them of improved security measures.

“We have also sought and are receiving assistance from outside our shores. I am reassured that citizens appreciate our efforts. I will continue to remind us of the imperative of unity and oneness. No nation can thrive where fear prevails, and no progress can be sustained without peace,” he said.

The President further assured Nigerians in other parts of the country affected by insecurity that ongoing efforts are already yielding results.

He called on citizens to support lawful initiatives, remain vigilant, and promote peace within their communities.

Tinubu also defended his administration’s economic reforms, describing them as necessary steps toward long-term national prosperity despite current hardships.

“As I have often said, true transformation requires sacrifice, and history affirms that enduring progress is often forged in moments such as these,” he stated.

Looking ahead to the next electoral cycle, the President urged political actors and citizens to uphold democratic values and adhere strictly to the provisions of the Electoral Act.

“Let our choices be guided by a shared commitment to peace, continuity, stability, and the long-term good of our country. Democracy flourishes where responsibility, restraint, and informed participation prevail,” he said.

He expressed optimism about the country’s economic direction, noting that key indicators suggest Nigeria is on the right path.

“Even as present conditions put pressure on many of our people, economic indicators show we are making the right choices. A new dawn is on the horizon,” the President added.
