Another Batch of Ogun Muslim Pilgrims Arrive Saudi Arabia Safely - The Alternative News

 


The second and final batch of 342 Ogun State Muslim pilgrims to this year hajj have landed safely at the Prince Abdul Azeez international airport, Medinah.

The batch comprising 190 males and 152 females touched down at the airport 2.06 a.m Nigerian time.


Immediately after touching down, the visibly elated pilgrims underwent the airport formalities after which they were transported to their respective hotels.


In a chat with newsmen, the amirul hajj, Prince Shamsideen Adebayo Apelogun thanked Almighty Allah for the safe trip, commending the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for empowering the State Muslim  Pilgrims Welfare Board which organised a hitch free hajj exercise.

He urged the pilgrims  to adhere strictly to laid down rules and regulations guiding the hajj operation and assured them of doing everything humanly possible to ensure their welfare and make their stay memorable.


He noted that this year had the best of preparation, as the pilgrims landed in the holy land promptly which was a clear departure from the past.


Speaking in the same vein, the Executive Secretary of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, encouraged the pilgrims to take advantage of the spiritual exercise to pray for continued peace and progress of the State and the nation at large

Some of the pilgrims who also spoke including Alhaji Oyebode Samsideen from Abeokuta and Alhaja Nosirat Akiko from Ijebu North pledged to be good ambassadors of the State. 


Meanwhile, members of the first batch have proceeded to the city of Makkah where they continued observing the rites of the spiritual exercise.
