Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and secured the party’s governorship ticket in Gombe State.
Pantami emerged as the party’s candidate through a voice affirmation by members during the PDP primary election held on Tuesday in Gombe.
He was declared winner as the sole aspirant by the Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel, Gregory Yenlong.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Pantami said his decision to contest was driven by a desire to serve the people of the state.
He also pledged to govern with fairness and justice if elected.
