As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a private firm known as Transit Gas Nigeria Limited (TGNL), has donated modern educational facilities to St. John Anglican Primary School, Ilado in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the State.
The donation includes; a block of six classrooms with offices and a store, toilets, tables and benches, generating sets and boreholes to improve the teaching and learning environment.
Speaking during the commissioning and handover ceremony, Chairman of Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, said government alone could not meet the growing demand for quality education infrastructure, as he commended TGNL for the intervention, describing it as a significant contribution to enhance learning conditions.
Ifede, noted that the company had “written its name in the sands of time” through the project, urging the school management and the School-Based Management Committee to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities, while calling on other corporate organisations, philanthropists and public spirited individuals to support the development of Public Primary Schools across the State.
In his goodwill message, Gbegande of Ososa, Oba (Dr.) Adetoye Alatise, commended the company’s commitment to community development and responsible corporate practices.
Also speaking, Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee, Ganiyu Dada, described the project as transformative, noting that it had positioned the school among the best-equipped in the area.
Responding, Managing Director of TGNL, Eromosele Agboighale, said the initiative had reflected the company’s belief in education as a foundation for sustainable development.
Appreciating the company, the Headteacher, Mrs. Adesola Badmus, alongside pupils, Sunday Paul and Abigail Jonah, expressed gratitude to the donor and pledged proper utilization and maintenance of the facilities in order to improve academic performance.
