...as Apelogun gifts them Saudi Riyals
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has urged pilgrims performing the on-going 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia to continue to pray for Nigeria.
The governor also tasked them to continue being good ambassadors of the state by remaining law-abiding throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
The governor gave the advice in a telephone conversation with the pilgrims today during a special sermon held on the Day of Arafat.
Abiodun reaffirmed that the welfare and well-being of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia remain very important to his administration, as the State Pilgrims Welfare Board has been empowered to see to their comfort while the spiritual exercise lasted.
In a similar gesture,
the Amirul Hajj and leader of the Ogun State delegation, Alhaji Shamsudeen Apelogun has donated the sum of 100 Riyals to each of the pilgrims from the State.
Apelogun who undertook gesture during the 2025 hajj described the Day of Arafat as the peak of Hajj and a special opportunity for Muslims to seek Allah’s mercy, forgiveness and blessings.
The Amirul Hajj added that the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has made adequate arrangements for their comfort, safety and welfare throughout their stay in Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina and appreciated the State Government for its continued support towards the success of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Speaking on behalf of other pilgrims, Alhaji Hakeem Ademosu and Alhaja Kudirat Adeyemi applauded the State Government and the Pilgrims Welfare Board for the care, welfare and comfort being provided, noting that the monetary gift gesture of the Amirul Hajj would further enhance their comfort during the pilgrimage.
