Arsenal FC have been crowned champions of the Premier League for the 2025/2026 season, ending a 22-year wait for the title.
The Gunners were confirmed winners on Tuesday night after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, leaving Arsenal with an unassailable four-point lead with just one game remaining.
It marks Arsenal’s first league triumph since the iconic 2003/04 “Invincibles” season, restoring the North London club to the summit of English football.
Managed by Mikel Arteta, Arsenal delivered a remarkable campaign, recording a club-best 28 league wins, surpassing the 26 achieved by the Invincibles. The team also equalled a 23-year record by preventing opponents from registering a shot on target in six matches and scored a record 17 goals from corner kicks.
Arteta’s side led the table for most of the season, withstanding late pressure from a resurgent Manchester City, whose title challenge faltered after dropped points against Everton FC and the decisive draw at Bournemouth.
City, coached by Pep Guardiola, needed a win to keep their hopes alive but fell behind to a first-half strike from Junior Kroupi before Erling Haaland salvaged a late equaliser, insufficient to delay Arsenal’s coronation.
The title is Arteta’s second major trophy with Arsenal, following the FA Cup success in 2020, and his fourth managerial title overall.
He could further cap the season with another major honour when Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League Final next weekend.
