The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general election, Peter Obi, has nominated former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as his running mate.

Naija News reports that Obi made the nomination on Saturday following his affirmation as the party’s presidential candidate.

Obi was ratified as the NDC flag bearer after emerging as the sole aspirant during the party’s nationwide primary elections conducted across the country.

The primary exercise, which formed part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, also featured the official presentation of the party’s flag to Obi, confirming him as the standard bearer.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were present at the event in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
