The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has unveiled Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, daughter of billionaire industrialist Adebola Adegunwa, as its deputy governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
The decision was announced during the party’s caucus meeting held in Abeokuta.
The position had earlier been zoned to Ogun East Senatorial District and micro-zoned to Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.
Adegunwa-Balogun, 51, is a chartered accountant and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Rite Foods Limited.
Speaking at the event, Governor Dapo Abiodun commended party leaders and members for their support and unity, noting that the APC successfully produced 39 candidates for elective positions from over 700 aspirants without internal conflict.
The party’s governorship candidate, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, expressed confidence in his running mate, citing her competence, professional track record, and strong background.
In her remarks, Adegunwa-Balogun thanked the party leadership, Governor Abiodun, and Senator Adeola for the opportunity, pledging not to betray the trust placed in her. She also assured residents of Ogun State of her commitment to working collaboratively to secure victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
