The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) will on Saturday, June 6, 2026, conduct a councillorship bye-election  to fill the vacant position occasioned by the demise of the incumbent Councilor  Hon. Nurudeen Bakare in Iperu Ward 5, Ikenne Local Government Area of the State.

In a release signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Babatunde Osibodu, voting exercise will commence at 8:00a.m to 2:00 p.m, while vehicular movement will be restricted during the period of the election within the ward to ensure a smooth conduct of the process.

 The Release further enjoined residents to fully comply with all electoral guidelines and cooperate with officials on duty, as Security agents would be deployed to maintain law and order, while ensuring peaceful  and smooth conduct of the electoral process.
