The Oyo State Government has commenced the demolition of a building used as a hideout by kidnappers in Ibadan, the state capital.
The property was reportedly linked to the abduction of the sister of the immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin children.
The victims were abducted last Wednesday but were successfully rescued by police operatives on Saturday.
According to reports, the demolition exercise began on Monday, with officials of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation leading the operation, supported by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
Heavy equipment was deployed to the site, located at Lakoun Estate along Olomi-Olojuoro Road in Oluyole Local Government Area, as part of efforts to pull down the structure.
Authorities say the move is part of ongoing measures to rid the state of criminal elements and dismantle their operational bases.
