Demonstrating its commitment to people-centred governance, the Ogun State Government has inaugurated a series of grassroots projects designed to enhance the quality of life for its residents.
Representing the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, led a delegation to the Abeokuta North Local Government Secretariat, Akomoje and various project sites to unveil initiatives across the local government.
In his address, Hon. Hamzat emphasised that each completed project signified a promise fulfilled, urging the benefiting communities to express their gratitude by adopting a robust maintenance culture.
"These projects represent significant investments that will positively impact the lives of our people. Proper maintenance is a way to show appreciation for the government's efforts," he stated.
Also speaking, Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Lanre Sodipo, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Taiyelolu Egbeyemi, reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling his mandate and supporting the agenda of the present administration.
"As a grassroots government, it is our responsibility to address the needs of our people, which is why these projects have been commissioned," he stated.
The commissioned projects included; the renovation and provision of classroom furniture in schools, solar-powered boreholes, toilet facilities and upgraded Legislative Chamber and Conference rooms, among others, in the communities of Akomoje, Olorunda, Adedotun and Imala.
