Several people are feared dead, while about 30 others have been declared missing following fresh attacks by suspected armed herdsmen in Ohimini Local Government Area.

According to reports, the attackers initially invaded Ochobo community, where two persons were confirmed killed. Their earlier attempt to overrun Agadagba community was reportedly resisted by local residents.

However, the assailants returned on Saturday evening and launched a renewed attack on Agadagba, opening fire on residents. The assault left several people dead, while about 30 others remain unaccounted for.

A resident, who spoke from a hiding place, described the incident as sudden and chaotic, noting that the attackers stormed the area unexpectedly, forcing villagers to flee into nearby bushes.

“They came shooting sporadically. Many people were killed, while several others escaped into the bush. As I speak with you, about 30 people are still missing, and we don’t know whether they are alive or dead,” the source said.
