Billionaire’s son Siraheem quits music, cites difficulty balancing commitments - The Alternative News

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Raheem Okoya, popularly known as Siraheem, has announced his decision to step away from the music industry, citing the growing difficulty of balancing music with his other commitments.

Siraheem, the son of billionaire industrialist Rasaq Okoya, made the announcement in a statement shared on his official Instagram page on Wednesday.

The singer reflected on his musical journey, saying what began as a hobby with friends gradually developed into a serious career. He said the journey gave him memorable experiences, including performing at major shows and receiving recognition from artistes he admired while growing up.

According to him, maintaining his music career alongside his other responsibilities had become increasingly challenging over the past year.

“I’ve always believed in giving everything my best and I no longer feel I can give this craft the effort, patience and dedication it truly deserves.”

Siraheem said he decided to stop releasing new music because he wanted to give his fans and colleagues a proper and professional conclusion to his current chapter.

He, however, stressed that leaving music does not mean the end of his creative journey.

“The ‘Siraheem music’ era may be closing, but the creative in me is still hungry for new challenges.”

The singer revealed that he plans to explore other creative fields and pursue new ventures in the future.

He also left the door open for a possible return to music, noting that he has unreleased material and an album that could eventually be released.

Siraheem said music remains therapeutic for him and disclosed that he spent the past year working on what he considers some of his best material.

The artiste began releasing music professionally around 2022 and gained attention with songs including “Bad Bitch Syndrome,” “Kowope,” “SOWETO” and “TRU$T FUND.”

His debut project, By The Order Of The City, an eight-track project, was released on May 1, 2026.

While announcing his exit from releasing music, Siraheem did not completely rule out a comeback.

“Who knows what the future still holds. Never say never.”

He thanked his fans and collaborators, Mr Fantasy and Mr Miyagi, for their support throughout what he described as an unforgettable chapter of his career.
