The family of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has debunked reports claiming that his daughter, Shakirat (Kira) Taiwo, recently welcomed a baby boy.
Haleemah (Lima) Taiwo, another daughter of the late actor, made the clarification in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday.
Lima urged the public to disregard the report, describing it as false. She also appealed to people to stop circulating unverified information about the family as they continue to mourn their patriarch.
She said the family had received several calls and messages from concerned friends and relatives about the report, prompting the need for a public clarification.
The false claim was circulated alongside a short video describing the purported newborn as “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy” and alleging that the child was born just days after Ogogo’s burial.
Lima said: “Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true.”
She added that the family was currently grieving and appealed for privacy and respect during the difficult period.
Ogogo, a veteran actor in the Yoruba film industry, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
He was buried the following day according to Islamic rites in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
