Gov. Abiodun Installs Monarchs, Tasks Royal Fathers On Peace, Anti-Land Grabbing - The Alternative News

 


Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has installed the new Olu of Sojuolu Ologiri, Oba Samuel Egbeyemi, in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, the Governor assured that his administration remained committed to strengthening traditional institutions.

He described royal fathers as vital bridges between the grassroots and the government, reiterating plans to continue to upgrade deserving chieftaincy stools across the three senatorial districts of the State.

Remarking, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, represented by the Elejio of Ejio, Oba Olusesan Sorinade, congratulated the new monarch, urging him to partner with the State government to combat land grabbing and curb the indiscriminate allocation of land within his domain.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Egbeyemi, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun, for upgrading the Sojuolu stool, promising to collaborate with the government to accelerate community development.



In a related development, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Akinlesi, also representing the Governor, charged the newly installed Olu of Wasinmi Alafia in the same Ewekoro LGA, Oba Elkanah Solagbade and his subjects to serve as vanguards of the state’s investment drive to foster progress in their domain.

He noted that public cooperation was essential to sustaining high-value investments for the collective benefit of Ogun State residents. 

On his part, the Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Adesina, represented by Hon. Bello Babatunde, commended the Governor for his respect for traditional institutions and commitment to community growth, advising the traditional ruler to remain accessible and responsive to his people.

Responding, Oba Solagbade, thanked the Governor for elevating the Wasimi Alafia stool and appealed to indigenes to unite and support his administration in driving meaningful development.



Similarly, Governor Abiodun has tasked the new Olu of Imagbon in Remo North Local Government Area, Oba Ayoola Fadulu-Bada, to prioritise peace, unity and harmonious coexistence in his domain.

The Governor's representative, Dr. Akinlesi, while speaking at the installation ceremony, reiterated that peaceful communities remain crucial to sustainable growth, describing the monarch's emergence as a call to selfless service and stressed the need for collaboration among traditional rulers across Remoland and the entire state.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Fadulu-Bada, gave thanks to God and lauded Governor Abiodun’s leadership style, pledging to harness the potential of the Imagbon community, while calling on all sons and daughters of the land to unite behind him for remarkable development.
