In a concerted effort to deliver the dividends of governance at the grassroots level, the Ogun State Government, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commissioned several new projects in Yewa North Local Government.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, noted the State Government's commitment to fostering an environment conducive for local government prosperity. He emphasised the administration's dedication to the people and its role in facilitating local development.
Hon. Hamzat, applauded the Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Hon. Olusola Akinbode, for the successful execution of significant projects in the area, urging the community to take collective responsibility by maintaining these facilities, underscoring their importance to communal well-being.
"The projects being commissioned today address specific community needs, which is the fundamental purpose of government. I urge the community to take ownership of these facilities and protect them diligently," he stated.
Also speaking, Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Hon. Olusola Akinbode, highlighted that the recent developments in Yewa North had fulfilled electoral promises aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents. "We have intentionally invested in projects that directly impact our people and have introduced empowerment initiatives to ensure their independence beyond our tenure," he added.
In their goodwill messages, party leaders Elder Bisiriyu Popoola and Chief Olu Agemo, expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved under Hon. Akinbode's leadership. They called for continued support for the Chairman to sustain development in Yewa North Local Government.
The commissioned projects included; the refurbished Local Government Secretariat in Ayetoro, the renovated Yewa North Multipurpose Hall, upgraded Aremo Olusegun Osoba Shopping Complex, renovated 10 lock-up shops at Igbogila and the newly constructed Igbokofi Health Center, among others.
