The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has ordained 2,820 ministers as full pastors, alongside 11,830 deacons and deaconesses, and 5,977 assistant pastors during its 74th Annual Convention.
The figures were announced via the church’s Holy Ghost Service Instagram account as the week-long convention concluded on Sunday at Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
According to the church, the office of full pastor represents the highest pastoral rank within RCCG, a position also held by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
“2,820 candidates were ordained to the office of Full Pastors. In RCCG, the office of the Full Pastor is the highest office; even the General Overseer is a full pastor,” the church stated.
In addition, the church disclosed that 11,830 deacons and deaconesses, as well as 5,977 assistant pastors, were ordained earlier during the convention.
The 74th Annual Convention, themed “Mountain Movers,” commenced on Monday, August 3, and ended on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The event attracted thousands of worshippers from across Nigeria and around the world.
Activities during the convention included daily worship sessions, Bible studies, prayer meetings, seminars and special programmes for various groups within the church. Key highlights featured the Holy Ghost Service, Holy Communion, Anointing Service, baptisms, ordinations, and a grand thanksgiving service.
The General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, led several sessions alongside other senior ministers and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye.
In a notable announcement on the final day, Adeboye revealed that 88 babies were born during the convention at Redemption City, comprising 52 boys and 36 girls.
The convention concluded on Sunday with a thanksgiving service, marking the end of a spiritually impactful week of worship, teachings and ministerial ordinations.
