The Super Falcons have been rewarded with a total of $60,000 as a goal bonus following their emphatic 6–2 victory over the Cleopatras of Egypt on Wednesday.

According to reports, the players initially received a promise of $5,000 per goal from the  (NSC) ahead of their opening fixture against Malawi at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

However, in a post-match address, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF),Shehu Gusau, announced an increase in the goal bonus to $10,000 per goal, effectively doubling the initial incentive.

The enhanced reward is aimed at boosting team morale as they prepare for a crucial quarter-final clash against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

Nigeria will face Cameroon on Sunday in Casablanca, with a place in the semi-finals at stake. The winner of the encounter will also secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
