Several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State have sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision involving a bus conveying them to the party’s rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday morning.
The accident reportedly occurred in Lafia, a few kilometres from the rally venue, when the bus collided head-on with another vehicle.
The number of injured delegates had yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report. However, the victims were reportedly evacuated to hospitals in Lafia for medical attention.
The incident was confirmed by Dan-Morgan Ihomun, the State Publicity Secretary of the Austin Agada-led faction of the APC in Benue State, who said no lives were lost.
“The accident happened in Lafia and it involved two vehicles. But there was no loss of life. Those who sustained injuries have been rushed to the hospital,” Ihomun said.
The incident comes months after a similar accident involving APC delegates from Benue State travelling to Lafia for a party event.
On March 25, 2026, three delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State died, while about 10 others sustained injuries when the bus conveying them from Makurdi to Lafia crashed on their way to attend the APC North-Central Zonal Congress.
