Environmental Sanitation: HOS Commends MLG & CA For Excellence - The Alternative News

The Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ogun State has been lauded for maintaining a clean and orderly environment, a feat that aligns with the statutory sanitation exercise, mandated by the State government.

The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, gave the commendation during an assessment and compliance tour of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the bi-monthly environmental sanitation in Oke-Mosan.

Mr. Saka, meticulously examined the premises and offices, paying close attention to detail, while he subsequently addressed the staff and management of the agency, praising their outstanding performance, just as he commended their efforts.

"The inspection is not intended to target anyone, but to instill a culture of cleanliness in our offices and surroundings. Civil servants must exemplify nobility, demonstrate self-awareness, and consistently represent the government positively," he stated.

In his remarks, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, expressed gratitude to the HoS for the visit and pledged to uphold the culture of cleanliness, noting that the act of cleanliness was not superficial, rather it was a standard that had been set through teamwork among the junior, senior and the management staff.

"The ministry's management leads by example and is committed to staff welfare, which has brought us this far," he said.

The Hos was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Waheed Adesina, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Oladipupo Ogunfowora and the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Mr. Babajide Adejumo.

The environmental sanitation initiative, revived in June 2026, with a mandate to ensure that all Public and Civil Servants in the State participate on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month.
