2027: Jigawa Residents Must Vote for Tinubu, Says Speaker - The Alternative News

The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatin, has declared that residents of the state must vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Dangyatin made the declaration on Saturday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council in Dutse, the state capital.

He described support for Tinubu as a religious obligation, citing the President's Muslim faith, his Muslim running mate and what he described as the President's support for the North.

The Speaker recalled Tinubu's role in facilitating the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that the North should reciprocate the support.

“Tinubu is our fellow Muslim and a leader who has the interests of Jigawa State at heart,” he said.

Dangyatin noted that although Jigawa was initially excluded from the President's campaign itinerary, Tinubu would now visit the state.

He consequently urged residents to support Tinubu and the APC at all levels in the forthcoming elections.

“That is why we must vote for him and support the APC at all levels,” he said.

Speaking on the party's preparations for the elections, the Speaker expressed confidence in the APC's strength, pointing to the presence of former governors, senators and federal lawmakers at the inauguration.

He said the turnout demonstrated the party's support across Jigawa State.
Dangyatin, who also coordinates the City Boy Movement in Jigawa, disclosed that the group would intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.

According to him, members of the movement would embark on house-to-house campaigns to enlighten residents about the activities of President Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi.

“We will take the City Boy Movement across Jigawa, going from house to house to tell the people what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our governor are doing,” he said.
