JUST IN: Herdsmen Attack Former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom’s Village, Injure Two Farmers - The Alternative News

Tension has resurfaced in Adeor settlement, Ndzorov Council Ward, in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, following a violent attack by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen, which left two farmers seriously injured.

The community, which is the hometown of former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, was thrown into panic as Nensha Adeor and Kator Gbenge suffered deep machete wounds during the assault.

According to local sources, the attack occurred when the farmers attempted to stop the herders from letting their cattle graze on and destroy their farmland. In response, the herders allegedly launched a brutal attack, leaving the victims in critical condition.

Medical staff at the General Hospital in Gbajimba confirmed that both men are receiving treatment and remain in serious condition.

This incident comes just three days after another farmer was abducted in the same area by suspected herdsmen. The abducted victim remains in captivity, with no contact or ransom demand made so far.

Worried residents have called on security agencies and the Benue State Government to act swiftly and bolster security in Ndzorov, warning that the situation could escalate if left unchecked.
