A 60-year-old woman, Osagbemi Oluwafemi, and two young men, Ayenuyo Ibrahim (25) and Taiwo David (22), have been arraigned before an Ondo State Magistrates’ Court over the alleged murder of a security guard, Taiwo Williams.
The incident reportedly occurred on July 2, 2025, at New Custom Junction in Okitipupa Local Government Area. According to police prosecutor Inspector Taiwo Oniyere, the trio allegedly beat the deceased with planks and wood, leading to his death days later.
They face charges of conspiracy and murder, contrary to Sections 316, 319, and 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The court did not take the defendants’ pleas. The prosecutor requested that they be remanded pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), while the defence counsel, O. Adedire, asked for an adjournment to respond to the remand request.
Chief Magistrate Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi ordered the defendants to be kept in police custody and adjourned the matter to July 31, 2025, for hearing on the remand application.
