Top political figures and dignitaries have begun arriving in Katsina State for the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away recently.
Among the early arrivals in Daura on Tuesday were former Vice Presidents Yemi Osinbajo and Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and ex-Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
Also in attendance were former Governors Aminu Masari, Aminu Tambuwal, Yahaya Bello, Kayode Fayemi, Ibikunle Amosun, Aliyu Wamakko, and Ali Modu Sheriff.
Prominent figures such as billionaire Aliko Dangote, former Minister Isa Pantami, and ex-Minister Pauline Tallen were also present.
A heavy security presence was seen across Daura, with operatives from the DSS, Police, and Army deployed to manage the crowd and maintain order. Traffic diversions were put in place as thousands of mourners gathered to pay their last respects.
President Bola Tinubu, religious leaders, and traditional rulers are expected to arrive later as the funeral rites continue.
